Ruthless Fractured Farrells A Damaged Billionaire Series Book 1 edition by Mallory Crowe Romance eBooks
Jean had grown up with a positive attitude in spite of never knowing who her father was and being abandoned by her mother who had a gambling problem. Her grandmother had raised her and left her the trailer they lived in when she passed away. Jean certainly notices the stranger when he walks into the diner where she works. She's not sure whats going on when he shows up at her trailer with a proposition but agrees to go to New York and help Colin. But when suddenly someone is trying to kill her and Colin is the only person she can trust, she's not sure what to do. I think the characters could have been more clearly defined but that did add to the confusion in the readers mind as to who was after Jean. As always for me, I also would have liked the relationship between Colin and Jean to be built up more and make the story longer. But still, a good story, likeable characters, and some nice chemistry! I'm anxious to read the second book. Thanks Mallory.Product details

Ruthless Fractured Farrells A Damaged Billionaire Series Book 1 edition by Mallory Crowe Romance eBooks Reviews
I'm now on the 5th book and the one thing I have to say about the reviews is that I am shocked at the amount of spoilers that are given in the reviews without some sort of warning. Because of this I'm not sure why anymore reviews should even be given but for what its worth...I found this to be more a story of redemption on the part of Colin. Yes he starts out a bad guy but tbh he told Jean most of the truth up front. Maybe not the key piece of it but if not for him she would still hv been scraping by. The only reason this is a 4 instead of a 5 is that whole enabling thing. That just weakens an otherwise strong character for me. These are worth the read as the author makes u start to care about the characters.
I received a free advanced readers copy of this book for an honest review. Jean, a truck stop waitress from Arkansas is approached by Colin and told that she is the spitting image of an heiress who's father just died. He comes up with the scheme to fake the DNA records so she will get the money since the real heiress is dead. What Jean doesn't know is that she is the real heiress and Colin is using her to get money he thinks the old guy owned him. While the two conduct their scheme, Colin finds out that some one is trying to kill Jean. He ends up having to save Jean multiple times and ends up falling in love with her. This was a great book and I'm ready to read the rest of the series.
It took me a little while to get into this book. I felt with the title and the plot line then he would be more “Ruthless” in his actions. I did like the plot line since it gave me a different take on a revenge type book. I did like Jean. She worked her butt off for what she had and cared for the people around her. Then there is Colin. I love when you read a book and witness a transition of either both, or one, characters. We got that with Colin. That is what redeemed the book for me. I would recommend this book.
I chose this rating because this was a really good book. The characters were something serious. And I mean very serious. Well to start off I didn't like the way Jean's mom was I alcoholic and a gambler. But Jean loved her mom though she would do anything she could for her. Colin wow, he was very manipulative at first. Then he and Jean spend some time together and then everything fell into place. Jean found that she had three brothers they were some real gangsters I'll put it like that. I tell you this was a really great book. To me everything was in order the way it should have been. Everything fell into place like it should have. I really love the way the author did the characters of Jean and Colin. This is some really great stuff. Now to me it was, but I can't speak for others. Great read. I recommend this book to all romance readers. Great ending.
Jean had left home because of an unhappy childhood with a drunken mother and returned home to Arkansas and now working as a waitress. Her mother had left Jean as a child, and thankfully was taken care of by her grandmother. One day while working, a guy approached her who was the bodyguard of a billionaire, Walter Farrell who recently died. He had a plan to scam the family by her posing as Walter Farrell's daughter that no one knew. Does Jean work with Colin on this scam by posing as Farrell's daughter and get away with it? She decided, no, she couldn't do it.
This is an excellent story where Jean is forced to agree to this scam, and shortly after reaching NY, has someone trying to kill her.Jean's need for a better life, and trying to learning to trust while dealing with the emotions of a very good looking bodyguard leads to a high powered and exciting story with many facets; attempted murder, kidnapping, learning Colin's secret, and romance.
I really like this book. It grabbed my attention from the very start, and more importantly, it held my attention through to the very end.
Both characters are well written and the plot was original. Sure there's a 'billionaire' trend (because we apparently aren't impressed with MILLIONAIRES anymore lol), but this story was more about the characters, and less about the money, which was nice.
If I had one negative thing to say about the story, it would be the length of their relationship. Considering all that was happening, I think it would have worked better if the author stretched the length of them knowing each other out more. ((Spoiler alert)) - To go from meeting someone, to deciding to con others with this person, to finding out this person is conning YOU, finding out you have a long lost family... not to mention two different attempts on your life during the whole thing, how are you going to fall in love in the midst of all that? In what, a week? No. The story had enough going on that it could, and should have been drawn out a little more, the author didn't need to cram it all into one week of knowing each other. Falling in lust with someone in a week... yes, absolutely. Falling in love with someone in a week... maybe, but while all of that is going on? No.
That can all be forgiven though, because the book aside from that, was really enjoyable.
- I would recommend this book to others.
- I would recommend the author to others.
- I would read other books by the author (and plan on doing so).
